Team over self
Basketball is a team game. We teach players to communicate, trust teammates, and compete together with discipline and effort.
Tennessee Saints is a year-round Christian youth basketball academy in Middle Tennessee. We believe faith, culture, and community are the foundation of great players and great coaches. We develop players in game-like situations instead of standing in lines running drills, so athletes learn to read the floor, make quick decisions, and play with confidence. Players train weekly for a minimum of three hours with regular scrimmages, plus optional tournament and league play. Our hope is that every player falls deeper in love with the game and enjoys the journey — growing physically, mentally, and spiritually along the way.
Tennessee Saints exists to develop young athletes through faith, discipline, and evidence-informed training. Our mission is to grow complete players and people through intentional coaching, weekly competitive reps, and a culture that values character, leadership, and team-first basketball.
Basketball is a team game. We teach players to communicate, trust teammates, and compete together with discipline and effort.
We believe strong character starts with strong values. Our program emphasizes humility, gratitude, and respect both on and off the court.
Every player should improve through faith. We develop the whole athlete — grounded in purpose, guided by Christ, and growing year after year.
Our current groups are 4th through 6th graders, training weekly year-round with regular scrimmages plus optional tournament and league play. We are actively exploring additional grade levels — so if your player falls outside that range, reach out anyway. Which groups we add next depends on the interest we hear from families, and we would much rather know you are out there than have you count yourself out.

Co-Founder / Head Coach
Jacob Adams is a co-founder and head coach of TN Saints Basketball Academy, a devoted husband and father of two, and a man grounded in his faith in Christ. He is passionate about developing young athletes not just as players, but as leaders of character.
A lifelong competitor, Jacob played basketball and soccer growing up—competing in rec leagues, street ball, church leagues, and 3v3 tournaments alongside players who went on to NBA careers. He also ran track as a sprinter and long jumper and developed elite powerlifting strength in high school, influenced by his father, a former competitive powerlifter.
Jacob is a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach, helping individuals identify and grow their innate talents rather than grinding away at their weaknesses. He is also completing his Mental Game Professional Certification in August 2026, studying under Dr. Cohn of Peak Performance Sports — training that directly shapes how Tennessee Saints develops the mental side of the game.
With over five years of coaching experience across basketball, soccer, and flag football—including being named YMCA Coach of the Year in 2024—Jacob brings intensity, discipline, and a team-first mindset to every practice. His mission is simple: build confident, resilient athletes who grow in skill, character, and faith.

He is a lifelong athlete and dedicated coach focused on developing young athletes through discipline, teamwork, and faith. A multi-sport competitor at Lenape High School and Widener University, he later coached football in the South Jersey Youth Independent Football League and led basketball programs at St. Joan of Arc and Oakview. Mike is a devoted husband and father of four, and his faith continues to guide his leadership, mentorship, and commitment to building strong, high-character athletes.
Co-Founder / Team Pastor
Josh Souder serves as the Team Pastor for the TN Saints, helping lead and shepherd them not only in the game of basketball, but in the pursuit of godly character and Christ-centered living. Based in Franklin, Tennessee, Josh brings both lived experience and pastoral conviction to the team. He was a multi-sport athlete in Iowa, competing in high school basketball, football, and track, and has spent the last 17 years coaching youth sports in various capacities.
Josh holds a Master of Theology (M.Th.) from Forge Theological Seminary and is currently completing his ACBC Certification in biblical counseling. His ministry experience includes serving as a lead pastor, mentoring men in discipleship programs, prison ministry, and investing in children and families within the local church.
As Team Pastor, Josh's focus goes beyond wins and losses. He is committed to building young men who understand that character matters more than stats, humility matters more than hype, and Christ reigns over every inch of the court. A devoted husband to his wife Meg and father of four, Josh sees basketball as a platform—not the end goal. His mission is to help raise up young men who honor Christ in how they play, how they lead, and how they live.
